MT : Metallurgical Engineering

Read the following instructions carefully:

1. This is a FREE online test. DO NOT pay money to anyone to attend this test.
2. Please login using Desktop/Laptop for this test. Very soon we will launch our mobile application.
   
3. Total duration of the examination is 180 minutes. Calculator is available on top, right-hand side of the question box.
4. The clock will be set at the server. The countdown timer at the top, side of the screen will display the time available for you to complete the examination. When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end automatically. You will not be required to end or submit your examination.
5. The Question Palette displayed on the right-hand side of the screen will show the status of each question using one of the following symbols:
   1. This palette refers that the espective question is Not Attempted
   2. This palette refers that the espective question has been Attempted
   3. This palette refers that the espective question is Marked for Review
   4. This palette refers that the espective question is Answered and Marked for Review
   
   
6. Go through various question palette symbols and understand their meanings before starting the examination.
7. Use Clear Response button to clear response for the current question, and Mark for review button to mark current question to review later.
8. After the start of the examination, you can switch sections by clicking on the General Aptitude or Metallurgical Engineering button on the screen.
9. This question paper consists of 2 Sections, General Aptitude (GA) section for 15 marks and the subject specific section Metallurgical Engineering (MT) for 85 marks. Both these Sections are compulsory.
10. The GA Section consists of 10 questions. Question numbers 1 to 5 are of 1 mark each, while question numbers 6 to 10 are of 2 marks each.
11. The subject specific MT Section consists of 55 questions, out of which question numbers 1 to 25 are of 1 mark each, while question numbers 26 to 55 are of 2 marks each.
12. Use the data given in the question while answering that question. If such data are not given, and the paper has useful data icon, then the same can be viewed by clicking on the Useful Data button that appears at the top, right-hand side of the screen.
13. The question paper consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT).
    a) Multiple choice questions (MCQ) have four choices A, B, C, D, out of which only ONE is the correct answer. Select the correct answer by clicking on the radio button (O) placed before the choice, with the help of the mouse.
    b) Multiple select questions (MSQ) have four choices A, B, C, D, out of which only ONE or MORE THAN ONE are the correct answers. Select the correct answers by clicking on the radio button (O) placed before the choice, with the help of the mouse.
    c) For numerical answer type (NAT) questions, a numerical answer should be entered with the help of the mouse and the virtual numeric keypad, which will appear below the question.
14. All those questions that are not attempted will carry zero marks. However, wrong answers for multiple choice questions (MCQ) will carry NEGATIVE marks. For multiple choice type questions, a wrong answer will lead to deduction of 1/3 marks for a 1-mark question and 2/3 marks for a 2-mark question. There is no negative marking for MSQ and NAT questions.
15. Your answers will be saved on the server periodically and also at the end of the examination. The examination will stop automatically at the end of 180 minutes.
16. You may PAUSE the examination just by closing the window. (Please close the window after the ongoing second reaches zero value to avoid an unsaved response, as it synchronises the answer every one minute ). But it is highly Not Recommended as this defeats the purpose of a mock examination. Try to complete the test in a single attempt.
